I showed up to work yesterday, only to be sent home on the spot. Apparently one of the full timer's is guaranteed their hours and called the management about getting less than so. They do a quick patchwork schedule, move my shift to the next day, my Friday Shift to Sunday, losing my now Sunday shift additionally, and I find out when I'm clocked in, in uniform, walking into my station.
I didn't make a fuss, asked them to notify me next time and took the opportunity to get some groceries, But it's not over yet. While wandering around (Boi we charge too much for bread) my Manager approaches me stating that I have my Sunday Shift back. Apparently, Mr. Full-timer booked off a day this week. Which is odd considering he was only missing 8 hours for his guarantee. So this all happened for nothing. I lost hours this week regardless, since my Sunday shift is 'next' week. I'm Glad I applied for EI, because I would not be able to afford the cost of living otherwise.
Also I didn't buy anything. Way too expensive.
